How much longer?

Let me just start off by saying that I really, truly enjoy a lot of the musicals that are on broadway right now. The great gatsby, outsiders, and more but my biggest problem is that they aren’t “original”. Yes the music is and the set is and all that, but the story isn’t.

I’m waiting for the new wave of musicals where it’s all original. Like for example, Two Strangers Carry a Cake Across New York, Maybe Happy Ending. Those shows are completely original and I’m so happy about that. Broadway is starting to fall off a bit with not as many people going to shows, and that shows with already famous titles will bring in more money than an unknown show. I miss the broadway seasons where it was 100% original work. Now, musicals that are original, don’t do well at the Tonys (specifically Two Strangers, the one original new musical this season) and it sucks. What do you guys think?
