Spouse Visa to Norway

Hi Everyone! I’m from the Philippines and planning to apply for a spouse visa soon to Norway to join my husband. Just wondering if anyone here has applied through VFS Global to join their EEA/EU partner in Norway on a D visa. Did VFS keep your passport for the entire processing period?

I’ve heard it can take up to six months to receive a decision, which seems like a very long time to be without a passport. 🥲

Or should I check directly with our local VFS Global office?
