Is there any chance of working in Germany as an international student with sufficient German skills?
Hey everyone, I'm a student who just graduated from a German school in Egypt and completed the Abitur, I'm receiving the certificate in a few days. This qualifies me to study exempt from tuition fees (not including student fees, I know) at some German universities.
My entire education from 4th grade has been in German, I know the language well and spoke it every day, and I got a 14 in the German Abitur exam, my NC is 2,8 though because I was not doing well in a lot of other subjects.
My question is, as someone looking to study and then live in and work in Germany, would it be feasible for me? I'd want to study a bachelor's and a master's and work a part time minimum wage job in the meantime. I know I couldn't afford the big cities but I do have the required funds for the blocked account so I'd be looking for a smaller city or a more rural area.
I did get very disheartened after looking at many posts in the subreddit. This is my best and possibly my only opportunity to escape my country as a queer transgender person in a violently homophobic and transphobic country. There is no life for me here. I'd rather struggle in another country than live a "stable" life here, facing constant harassment every day and having my existence be illegal. I just want to know whether it's even possible or if I shouldn't waste my time and I should just give up hope.
I'd want to study and work in something IT-related, that's been my passion for a while, although apparently the job market is horrible on that front. I'd study something else if it meant I had a chance at staying in Germany, too. I'm wondering if my German (and English) proficiency and Abitur certificate means I have a better chance at making it or not. Any help or advice is really appreciated!
