AITAH for not going to a TTRPG session because I don't want to?
Basically, I was supposed to go to a session today an hour ago. Thing is, I'm really not in the vibe to do that for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, I already don't like the system we're using (Avatar: Legends) because it basically only uses a stat that I don't have anything in for every check. Most of the time I don't mind it, but it's annoying.
Secondly, we do this almost every week, and my friends live really far from me. I've suggested online sessions but I was dismissed, so I always have to pay a lot in Uber to go there (bus doesn't pass through that area if I'm not mistaken). We've done sessions in my house, but the distance is the same, so instead of me getting fucked, they're all paying a lot to go to my house.
I also just wanna stay with my family today, because my country is gonna be playing in the world cup. The time wouldn't overlap with it if I did go, but I'd probably get home a bit later and, as I said, I wanna stay with my family.
I told my friends that they could do this session without me, but they all kinda told me I was being an asshole for not wanting to go, then I said that I can't control my "want" to go, what I can control is if I do go, and if I did, I wouldn't be really into the roleplay which isn't fun for anyone. The dm told me about commitment and agreement and the fact that I'm not being commited to the session which i feel like is a big dramatization. Still, I feel bad but not enough to actually go. It seems that the RPG is much more important to them than it is to me, so maybe I've answered my own question, but I want to know what other people think.
