Is my mom being toxic?

So the other day I told my mom that I picked up my impulsive habits from my dad from watching him over the years. She disagrees and tells me to stop blaming people for my mistakes and be accountable for my actions. I tried to tell her that it's actually true and chooses not to believe me... Is she just messing with me?
