Is this how some Ateneans view employment?
I was at a restaurant in Makati (around Greenbelt) and ended up seated beside two people who were talking very loudly like, impossible not to overhear.
They were going on about how they don’t want to end up as “employees” because they have family businesses to fall back on. The way they talked about it was honestly off-putting like being an employee is somehow beneath them or part of some “status quo” they’re too good for.
They kept mentioning Ateneo and their lives as an Atenean and speaking with this sense of entitlement lmao I get having different career paths, but the way they framed it felt degrading toward people who actually choose to work and build careers on their own.
Anyway, I know they’re smart people but it just made me wonder are people from Ateneo really like this, or was that just a one off experience?
