Trained for a day and got no further information. This is my first job pls help.

I got hired at a cafe and was told to start training yesterday. I was there from 8am-2pm but it was so busy I barely learned anything. There were only two people behind the counter and it was so packed they didn’t even have time to stop and try to teach me things. I know nothing about coffee so it’s really going to take time. No one even took a break. The girl training me was there 6:30-2 and never stopped for lunch. I stood around and if they asked me to help out I did and besides that I tried to observe.

My main issue is that I don’t have anyone’s contact info besides the stores number but obviously they expect orders through that phone. I didn’t do any paperwork yesterday because it genuinely was so crazy, everyone was doing something the whole time I was there. The girl training me was saying that it was a bad idea they told me to come in when they did cause it was an insane rush for hours. I never clocked in.

They have my info and I told the girl training me to forward my number to the owner again and she said that I’d be contacted about when to return and info regarding paper work.

I didn’t hear anything all day so I called and was given a number for a guy I didn’t know and I texted him saying who I was and that I had trained and asked abt any further information and I still got no response.

My mom is telling me to call again and even go there to talk to them. My boyfriend and his mom are saying that that’s crazy and I should wait till Sunday.

I don’t want to look like i’m lazy or something but I also don’t want to be annoying I don’t know what to do. Everyone there the whole day from the staff to the customers were genuinely sweethearts.
