Stuck in a rut— recs for read aloud books for a 6 year old girl

The last few ones I’ve gotten from the library have kinda flopped. I think she mostly enjoys books about people in realistic situations vs fantasy/animals. (Although she did love Brambly Hedge because the art is just so fantastic, and the Enchanted Wood spoke to her.) She’s into the American Revolution right now, so maybe something about that era.

Some favorites have been:
* Little House in the Big Woods
* Cobble Street Cousins
* James Herriot Treasury for Children
* Katie Morag: Island Stories
* All-of-a-Kind Family
* Eloise
* The Secret River

Here’s a list of ones we tried but didnt quite land. I think we need to wait a bit longer on them:
* Charlottes Web
* The first Betsy Tacy (read about a year ago so might try that one again)
* Ramona the pest
* The Heartwood Hotel series (I absolutely loved bet she was kinda meh on)

To read on her own she likes graphic novels like Dogman and Owl Diaries. (I confess I don’t love Dogman but let her pick what she wants here!)
