"I Love You" seems to be the New Coupon Code for Free Sex?
Who the fuck is says "I love you" after a week?
Not a week of dating. Not a week of living together. Not even a week of actually knowing each other.
A week of talking.
I have been very clear from day one with everyone, this is anl arrangement. I am not selling a fairytale, a soulmate package, or a lifetime subscription. Yet somehow, one guy "loved" me after a little over a week of chatting. Another guy came to my city, met me once, and suddenly he's in love too.
Love? Really?
You don't know how I act when I am angry. You don't know my weird habits. You don't know how I take my tea or coffee. You don't even know my surname. I talk about wanting respect, consistency, being pampered, and being treated well. Apparently that's enough for some men to start planning our emotional future together.
Maybe they genuinely caught feelings. Maybe it's a tactic to speed run intimacy and get a free fuck. I honestly don't know.
What I do know is that it freaks me out.
The moment I said, "No, this isn't love," both of them got upset. Which only made me question it more.
Maybe I am cynical, but if you can say "I love you" to someone you've barely known, then what does that phrase even mean anymore?
I'm not flattered. I'm concerned.
I know I am getting old, but "I love you" used to mean something. Now it feels like people are handing it out like free samples at a supermarket.
If you love me after a week, you don't love me.
You love a fantasy version of me that exists entirely in your head. And honestly? That's scary AF. 🙈
