Hi r/wow

I've never really been an advocate of self promotion, but I had been urged to start putting some light on a challenge I had set for myself this season now that it's starting to gain some traction.

I have played M+ predominantly over the previous few expansions as a healer main, only dipping in and out of other roles to broaden my knowledge of how other classes or roles approach certain keys. I have very lightly documented my journey over the years as I wouldn't ever really consider myself a content creator. I'm just a guy that works full time and enjoys spending what spare time I have trying to improve at the things I enjoy.

Well, with the release of Midnight I found myself at an impasse. I didn't buy it on release, I had mentally reached the end of my journey in WoW and couldn't see a future in it for me. I achieved title range in M+ over different seasons on different characters and different roles. The removal of add-ons, simplifying of M+ over the years and the direction Midnight was aiming for didn't really appeal to me. That is until a few friends had proposed a challenge to me and boy, do I like a challenge.

The challenge was to try and reach the top 0.1% for Midnight S1 but with 3 key rules in place to truly see if the vision Blizzard had for the future of the game was attainable. These rules were:

1: No full pre-made team.

2: Play a non-meta class (at least at the time of the challenge starting)

3: Most importantly, no add-ons!

I accepted and decided to live stream when possible my journey. Not because I desired to create a following, but more so that there was proof of my journey in real time. Now streaming M+ keys as an off-meta spec has proven to be exhausting. Some invites can take literal hours, paired with the other challenges M+ naturally presents, streaming as a form of entertainment for others is a very hard thing for someone who does not create content to do.

But I have started taking some of the more interesting keys of my journey and uploading them to youtube, even having been asked to explain how I approach certain keys as an off-meta class. So that's what I bring to you today. I won't be posting on r/wow again until the challenge is over and hope that I can inspire some people that want to take that leap into M+ and show that perhaps, it may just be a challenge that is possible. We shall see!
