Is it just me or this game's early game online is mostly dead?

In places like Undead Burgh, Forest of Fallen Giants, Heide's Tower and the area before the DS1 gargoyles I used to get a lot of invasions and coop.

In DS3, Undead Settlement and Lothric Wall? I'm looking to find something after 10 minutes of waiting. A game that has more players in Steam than the previous ones, and with a returning event ongoing.

Bad luck?
