So confused. Google account vs. migrating data?

A long time ago, I gave all the permissions to have my Fitbit be connected to my Google account. However, that’s all I thought we had to do.

Was I supposed to do something else to transfer data so historical data shows up in the new app? I’m still on the old app and I am concerned that when the new app uploads, it won’t show any historical data.

The last email I got from Fitbit just said some features will be leaving Fitbit and I could export data from those. All I care about is sleep data, and a few other basic things like heart rate, so I didn’t export anything. The email literally said, “all your data will transition to the new app.”

Was I supposed to do something else so that even my historical sleep data will show up on the new app? A comment from another thread, so there was something more I needed to do.
