The criticism of the equipment conversion system for veterans is being overstated.

Discussion

Under the announced rules, there are 16 equipment pool eligible for grab, with the exception of the Monolith Arrow. Players who have already maxed their Hero Hall progression will automatically receive 12 random Epic equipments at level 15. In addition, everyone receives the full reward track rewards.

The group that benefits the least is actually the most progressed group: players who already own every Epic equipment and have all of them at level 15 or higher.

Even for them, the compensation is still very generous. Since each Epic equipments after 4+ are converted into 50 Starry Ore each, a fully maxed player would receive:

12 Epics = 50*12 (600) Starry Ore

Additional compensation/reward track Ore = 200 Starry Ore

Total = 800 Starry Ore

That's hardly a bad outcome.

For everyone else, the value is even higher. If a player owns all Epic equipments but only has a few upgraded while the rest are underleveled, they effectively receive:

800 Starry Ore worth of compensation

Multiple Epic equipments instantly brought to level 15 worth over 100k shinny, 10k glowy.

The full reward track rewards

In other words, they gain both progression and resources.

The duplicate conversion rate of 50 Starry Ore per Epic is also more reasonable than many people suggest. An Epic equipment normally costs 3,100 League Medals, and those medals could have been spent on event resources instead. When you compare the value, 3,100 medals roughly translates to around 80 Starry Ore worth of event rewards.

So the real opportunity-cost difference isn't massive. You're looking at roughly 30 Starry Ore less value compared to the most efficient alternative, not some catastrophic loss.

Most importantly, this system was clearly designed to help newer and returning players catch up. However, unlike many catch-up mechanics, it doesn't leave veteran players empty-handed. New players receive a huge boost, while established players still gain substantial resources and progression value.

The only players who can claim they're getting the least value are those who already own and have maxed every Epic equipment and even they walk away with around 800 Starry Ore, which is still an excellent reward.
