Mom threatened to k word herself
For context, I am 19f and I'm a university student who's been living at home during my freshman year. My relationship with her has always been miserable, but an experience I had the other day is really pushing me to my breaking point and I honestly just want validation and to be told I'm not crazy haha, (you'll see why). Okay so the other day, the day before we were supposed to leave for a road trip, I woke up and went straight into her room because I had to tell her something. My mom does this thing where she'll call my facial expressions ugly, so as soon as I walked in she told me to fix my face because it was ugly, keep in mind I literally just woke up. At this point I just turned right back around and went into my room without speaking but she stopped me saying she now needed me to take my dog to her doggy daycare. For context, we left for the trip early the next morning and originally she was gonna take the dog because I had a lash appointment and then work, but my lash appointment got cancelled the night before and I was originally going to tell her that I now needed to go to the store to get the supplies to do lashes myself. Anyway, I slammed my bedroom door when I shut when I closed it after she said that, obviously frustrated bc she was just adding fuel to the fire atp. Later, I come back out of my room and informed her of my new plans and that I still wouldn't be able to take the dog, and of course she argued about it. I was frustrated bc I knew she was doing it on purpose at that point, she was already planning on taking the dog up until then so there was no reason she couldn't anymore, and when I brought that point up, she just said because it was my dog (I didn't buy the dog or anything, she bought it when I was like 13 and ig when I turned 18 the dog was somehow "mine") and she started yelling and I literally just asked why she was yelling because I hadn't been yelling and I thought we were just having a conversation. After I asked that she lost her mind, started getting hysterical, crying, saying I treated her like she was beneath me, that I treated her like the parent that wasn't there when she's the one who was there. Saying I didn't have a right to take "whatever was going on with me" out on her. I asked her to name examples of when I treated her so horribly and all she could come up with was the time I accidentally ate a meal prep container she made for herself, because she normally made multiple, and I had assumed she already ate hers so I ate the one I saw in there. That conversation went nowhere with her calling me a liar because apparently I ate 6 out of 8 salmon patties she made (in the span of 2 days..) and I told her I didn't. Anyways, she brought up the "thing that was going on with me" again so I told her straight up I hade been feeling depressed and suicidal and she broke down crying again asking what I wanted her to do, saying she tried the best she could, saying there were so many good things about me (she couldn't name one other than my intelligence) and it escalated to her asking if she should kill herself so I could be happy. Which I obviously said no to and at this point I realized the trap I fell into. She gave me options, saying I could either move out, I could start talking to her, go to therapy or she would kill herself. And she went on and on saying this and I kept saying idk but she said idk wasn't an answer and it meant that I wanted her to kill herself. So, I finally asked if I could leave and she told me that that was my answer, then started crying and saying, "I'm sorry. I did the best I could." While actively shutting her bedroom door and locking it. I tried to get into the room and told her I was calling the police and she responded that she didn't care, so I proceeded in calling them. When they arrived, the officer opened her door right up and she was laying on her bed acting completely fine and confused as to why the police were here, then proceeded to tell the police that she was worried about me. So the officer proceeded to ignore anything I tried to tell him, I recorded a part of our encounter and I tried to show him but he simply commented on my phone battery. He told me multiple times to stop crying and that I shouldn't call the cops over a "disagreement" Sometime during this I had called a family member, and she came over so I sat in the car with them and they tried to calm me down but everyone was just treating me and the situation like it was just a simple argument and that it would pass, and they guilted me into still going on the trip the next day because "no one would have fun" if I didn't. My aunt told me that my mom sounded completely calm on the phone, and I heard my mom tell my aunt that it was "scary to see her like this" My mom also proceeded to call other relatives presumably to control the narrative since I'd told my side to some other relatives, which I never do. Anyway, I'm sitting on a beach now while typing this. My family are ways away from me all laughing, while I'm over here alone. Of course, I'm the one isolating myself but I feel like it's rightfully so. That whole situation traumatized me, and for them to expect me to be fine and act like nothing happened is crazy. My mother is crazy and they're never going to be a hundred percent on my side. I don't really have many friends, so I just feel completely alone. I've tried to post this multiple times, but I just got sick everytime I thought of it, but now I'm just laughing. It almost sounds too insane to be real. But either way, everyone around me is treating me like I'm crazy for having the reaction I'm having and I truly don't see it.
