First play through - advice on who to keep alive?

Who should I really avoid killing - I just took out Nelson's dad in Diamond City (asleep of course - I don't have 2k yet) after he sent a couple of triggermen after me, and I'm wondering who (if anyone) I absolutely shouldn't kill.
