Environment cleaning after treatment scabies
Hello everybody, I’ve been diagnosed with scabies 2 days ago, even if I don’t have visible burrows (my body is full of red spots, bumps and scratches, since I’ve been itching for 2 months). The dermatologist told me that since I am itching on genitals and I can’t sleep at night I may have scabies, even if she didn’t find parasites on my hand with the scanner. Besides, only last month I started not being able to sleep at night.
By the way, yesterday I took Ivermectin and today I applied Permethrin 5% all over my body, washing it off after 8 hours. I’ve been told by some people who had scabies that Ivermectin is more effective, because it kills all mites, without the risk of leaving a spot uncovered, like in the case of Permethrin.
Since I don’t have a washing machine, I put the bedsheet and clothes I’ve worn during the last 4-5 days in plastic bags.
The dermatologist told me to keep them for 7 days, do you think it’s enough? I’ve been reading people saying that they can actually survive more under some conditions, but idk if I can trust them.
Also, I vacuumed the mattress case, pillow, and even wiped them down with a wet cloth, and I wiped my phone, Mac, and chair. I also vacuumed the floor and the carpet.
I have another question: do you think it’s a problem if I’m wearing clothes, or using towels that have been in the closet, some of them in contact with the ones I wore before starting the treatment, like 2 days ago? Even the clean bedsheet has been in the same shelf of underwear and socks I’ve worn.
ChatGpt told me mites should not move between clothes but I don’t know, I really don’t wanna get infested again.
Besides, I’m still itching after cream and pills, is it normal?
Please, help me if you know the answers, I’m struggling a lot with this.
