The summer sun beats down on my shoulders as I get out of my car, grab my swim bag, and walk towards the front entrance of my local outdoor pool. I wave to her as I make my way into the concrete rimmed pool area. A cool breeze wafts the heavy scent of chlorine off the top of the clear water and directly into my nasal passages. It's not a bad scent: sharp, tangy, with that wrongness of chemical behind everything, but not bad.

I head to the locker room to change into my speedo, but as I pass by the side of the pool, I note you swimming in the only designated lap lane. 'That's weird,' I think to myself, 'I don't recognize her.'
