Amateur deckbuilder asking for advice on my Expanded deck
I don't really like having to buy individual cards for my decks, which is why I try to make as many decks as I can entirely out of my own collection. And because they're only from my collection, they tend to be a bit scrappy when it comes to strategy (and obviously they're all Expanded).
So I'd like, if you want, for a more experienced deckbuilder/player to take a look at my deck and tell me maybe where it falls short in terms of strategy. Not necessarily in terms of specific cards I'm missing, because I still want to keep it all from my own collection if possible. Here's the decklist:
Pokemon:
2x Pikipek SUM 106
2x Trumbeak SUM 107
1x Toucannon SUM 108
2x Woobat PAF 032
2x Swoobat PAF 033
3x Espurr BUS 059
2x Meowstic BUS 060
2x Mimikyu PAF 037
1x Mewtwo V PGO 030
1x Hisuian Typhlosion V ASR 053
2x Lillie's Clefairy ex JTG 056
Trainers:
1x Big Malasada
1x Energy Retrieval
1x Rescue Stretcher
1x Level Ball
1x Potion
1x Trekking Shoes
4x Switch
2x Cynthia
2x Bug Catcher
2x Lillie
4x Nemona (or Hau, or Hop, they all do the same thing)
Energy:
20x Basic Psychic Energy
I tried to design the deck so that there were two viable strategies one could build toward: either you could load up your hand with as many cards as possible for Meowstic's Hand Kinesis (10 damage per card in your hand), or you could load up your Bench for Clefairy's Full Moon Rondo (20 damage per benched Pokemon, yours and your opponent's, base damage 20). I also built a testing deck focused around Luxray RCL 062 (I can put that decklist somewhere else if you want to look at it); the problem is, my Clefairy deck is getting its butt consistently kicked by the testing deck. So I fear my Clefairy deck isn't strong enough, and it's probably not the most efficient. What does someone with more knowledge than me think: should I ditch one of the two win conditions and focus on only one, and what else could I do to improve the deck overall? Thanks!
