My cat prefers to eat his food off the floor.
I have a cat named milo, he's a 4 month old persian cat I got gifted from my uncle. Before we got him, my uncle fed him royal canine persian food in a small bowl when he was little. We switched his foods because it was too expensive but the cat didn't seem to mind the change. His everyday food is fancy feast kitten wet food (chicken and turkey) and some meow mix dry kitten food.
A few days ago, he went on a hunger strike and refused to eat. The first thing I thought about was that he turned picky and wanted someone new. So I bought tiki cat kitten food and viva la kitty kitten food. I served it alone and he didnt eat it, I served it with his kibble (meow mix kitten food) and he ate a tiny bit and stopped. I decided to mix some of his old wet food with the tiki cat and kibble, he ate it all.
Then today my parents told me that they found out that he refuses to eat on his ceramic plate. I specifically got him a bowl a few months ago that doesn't give whisker fatigue but he still doesn't want to use it. We then tried his old stainless steel bowl and he didn't like it either.
Is it normal for him to prefer the floor?
