final fantasy 14 worth for endgame?

my friends are playing final fantasy 14 a lot. i played Wow, i didn't like the story, but i really liked playing raids and dungeons, was really fun.

is it worth it to get ff14 just for the endgame? I don't really like the story, i played some of the trial and the mechanics are fun, and i keep thinking "this will be fun to do in raids with my friends" but I don't really enjoy the story, so i think if i continue it'll be solely for the endgame and to have all the fun doing raids and stuff with my friends! that sounds really fun! at least was fun in WoW, the only fun part I'd say. I'm okay with a few days more skipping through stuff, i did it with WoW if it means i get to have fun later.
