A lack of sex ed isn’t an excuse for accidental pregnancies in the 21st century.

FYI, my post is not targeting women. I hold all genders accountable for making bad decisions. Also, I do believe there should be good sex ed that doesn’t only focus on how cis men and women have sex with each other.

I went to catholic school and I fucking hated it. I was told to be abstinent until marriage and lied to about condoms and birth control. My parents weren’t that informative- my dad never talked to me about it.

We have the internet. I’ve found out a lot on the internet. I am not talking about porn. I am talking about useful articles regarding sexual topics. I also found out about birth control methods through my OB/GYN and I’ve been on birth control since I was 18. I’m 26 now. Condoms can be bought at the drug store. Anyone over 18 can go to the doctor to talk about contraception without their parents finding out.

I’m choosing to not have children until I am finished with college, married or with a partner who I know I want to spend the rest of my life with, and financially able to do so. I will not have any unplanned pregnancies. A lot of people just make shitty decisions and have kids when they really shouldn’t.
