no image, potential help identifying spider that was on me?

Located in South Georgia, USA - hi all, i woke up from a nap earlier and found a spider crawling on my arm. i think it was on the couch/near it and crawled on me by accident/not trying to hurt me. I got scared, swiped it off of me, and I haven’t seen it since. it was all black and medium sized (not as big as a brown recluse, but not as small as a jumping spider). it didn’t feel hairy either, and it looked skinny (skinny body, skinny legs, etc). I’ve looked on common spider charts but I don’t see what was on my arm. that said, I think it may have been a black widow. we’ve had a problem with them before in our house but we never exterminated them, just took them out to the woods. however, i think it also could have been a regular house spider as we have those in the corners of our windows and other corners of the house. any help potentially identifying this spider without an image? should I be scared of getting bitten by one? i know black widows are venomous, just not sure about all the other ones. thanks!!
