Paid residence deposit 2 hours after deadline…am i cooked?
Hi everyone,
I’m an incoming first year and was on the residence waiting list. On June 11, I received a message in the message tab saying that a residence space had become available.
The email said I had to pay the $600 deposit by 4:00 p.m. TODAY to secure the offer. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the message until today and ended up paying my deposit 2 hours AFTER the deadline they gave me.
The payment went through, and when I log into the housing portal it says: “Residence Agreement Contract Signed” and “You have paid the deposit. The deposit was paid on June 13.2026”
However, my status still says “Student Without Residence Guarantee.”
I’ve already emailed residence admissions to confirm if my spot is secured but i’m still pretty anxious about it.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? If the portal accepted the payment and shows the deposit as paid, is that a good sign, or could they still cancel my residence offer because I was late?
