People looking down at their phones in public

Arguably a great many of us do this, especially out in public. It's simple to doom scroll aimlessly or watch videos to our hearts content. Lately, I have been trying to not look at my phone as much when out and about, including when waiting for doctors appointments or musical events to begin. I look around to see if others are doing the same but it seems loads of people of all ages are on their phones. What does everyone else here do when it comes to phone usage in public?
