cat uti or behavioral problem?

My tabby cat is coming on 3 years old and has never had a problem with peeing outside her litter box. I’ve had her since she was a kitten, but lately i have been catching her peeing in different spots around the house.

When i catch her in the act she meows incessantly and won’t stop peeing. she still uses her litter box regularly and from what i can tell there is no discomfort whatsoever when she does have to go to the bathroom.

i have an appointment to bring her to vet in the coming days to make sure it is not a UTI, and treat it if it is, but does anyone have any idea if this is typical for UTI’s in cats or something altogether i should be worried about?
