Score after half time: Melbourne 4.7 - Essendon 3.9

Think it’s worth nothing that for the second half, we were moderately competitive with a top 4 team. Yeah, they already had us by the neck, but they could have easily belted us by 80+ points like the Dogs or the Cats did last year. We know our list isn’t great, we know it’s young, we know we have list cloggers, but I think we can (and I will) take some comfort in the fact that the boys cracked in after half time when things were looking dire.
