Orientation at MTM
I passed my interview/assessment/medical exam back in February, and I start orientation at Mazda Toyota on Monday morning (6/15). Waited 4 months, but I finally got the call.
What do I need to wear to orientation? The e-mail sent to me states business casual (blouses, slacks, etc.) but directly underneath, it states t-shirts, classic jeans, and clean tennis shoes.
I’m going in for a production role, nothing in office or administration, and I’m expecting to take a plant tour. Which means walking/movement will be involved, and I’m also expecting week 2 to be more hands-on.
Do they really want business casual for that? 😂
If you work at MTM, what did you wear to your orientation? Am I fine in a t-shirt (non-graphic) and jeans with athletic tennis shoes? Or do you recommend saving that for week 2 and doing full-on business casual for week 1?
If they want polos and khakis, then I need to make a quick shopping trip tomorrow because I have 2 dress modes: fancy date night attire and band tees/skinny jeans, with very few options in-between.
Furthermore, what did you spend your first week doing compared to week 2? Do I need more business casual for week 1, then more casual for week 2?
I just don’t want to show up over or under-dressed, especially considering the fact that it’s a manufacturing job. If I’m going to be active, I want to prioritize comfort over professionalism.
