I don't understand the level of hate for Anna Nardini.

Her not telling Luke about her pregnancy/April's existence is FUCKED and I totally understand why people hate her for that, but the complaint I seem to see here way more often is that she didn't want Lorelai throwing April a party.

Like, is it really that strange/bitchy that she wouldn't want a woman she didn't know to be throwing/chaperoning a party for her underage kid without meeting/knowing her better first? That seems really reasonable to me. She didn't know if Lorelai was a safe adult/good influence or not.

So why do people seem to find that discomfort so egregious?
