Design a Hawkeye spinoff

It’s 1983 and Alan Alda is willing to to do a sequel to MASH. What’s your design…

…I’m kinda handwave that he’s mentally fine (it’s tv) and he’s back to being himself. For plot reasons Hawkeye becomes the mayor of Crabapple Cove and we wind up with basically the Andy Griffith Show. We’re gonna need the sassy love interest who is not easily wooed by Hawk’s charms. I guess his Dad is a character. His old buddy from growing up who calls him Ben. So far the show sucks. What ya got?
