Fiber service unavailable but the distribution box is literally right behind my home in the alleyway and several buildings nearby have it
I'm moving to a townhouse in Chicago and there is ATT fiber in my alleyway. I own the unit, it has its own street number and each unit of the building is serviced separately from the poles in the alley. The poles are on my side of the alley. The FCC broadband map shows several buildings on the opposite side with service less than 50 feet away. I can literally see the distribution box on the pole through my kitchen window. As far as I can tell, there is no technical reason I should be unable to get fiber service, yet it is unavailable. I went to a corporate owned store and have called the sales line several times to see if they can at least send someone out there to look at it but no luck. I've asked about filing a NAV ticket but no luck there either. I am an IT professional and reached out to some contacts as a sanity check and they agree that it seems like I should be able to get service from a technical standpoint, but I simply cannot get ATT to send someone out to my address.
I'd sell a kidney to have fiber service over cable, is there anything I can do here? Please, let me give you my money, I will buy your most expensive plan.
