For the love of anything: How do I SHUT UP my brain DURING sleep??
I'm a hyperactive dreamer. I.e., my brain not only rarely leaves the dream stage -but every dream is basically a thriller. From bloody zombie apocalypses, to entire sci-fi storylines, to, at worst, flashbacks from the past.
Now. Having C-PTSD, I'm kinda used to it. That said: I'm now at my wits end here. Seriously! I've tried everything! Music during sleep, 1h no screen time before going to sleep, trying to relax before going to sleep...Nothing! Nada! Nix! Every day, I wake up like I'm in the Twilight Zone: My body is awake, but my mind is railroaded.
I'm not joking when I say, sleep is ruining my life at this point. The only times I seem to "get" refreshing sleep, is when I fall asleep from exhaustion.
Any tips? At this point, I am so close to just trying hitting my head against the wall, until I fall asleep from the concussion, ha ha
