Is it weird that slightly chubby guys turn me on more than gym guys?
I’m 19 and I think I finally figured out my actual type. It’s not the guys with abs and big arms that I always thought I wanted. It’s the soft, chubby, teddy bear types.
For the longest time I went for the typical hot guys. You know the ones. Gym every day, sharp jawline, super confident. On paper they seemed perfect. But after dating a few of them I started feeling like I was just an accessory. They were always checking themselves out in mirrors, talking about their workouts, and the sex felt kind of performative. Like they were more focused on looking good than actually connecting with me. It got old fast.
A couple months ago a mutual friend set me up with this guy named Ben. He’s 24, a little chubby, wears hoodies and glasses, and has this warm smile.
We went out for pizza and ended up talking for like four hours. He was so attentive. He asked questions and actually listened to my answers. When I complimented him he got all flustered and shy. It was adorable. We went back to his place and things got physical. His body is soft and warm and comfortable. I loved running my hands over him and feeling how he reacted. He was so focused on making me feel good instead of showing off. The sex was really nice. It felt genuine and intimate.
Since that night I can’t stop thinking about it. His softness feels safe and cozy. I’ve turned down a couple of fit guys since then because they don’t give me the same feeling.
I feel a little weird about this preference. All my friends talk about wanting tall muscular guys. Am I the only one who gets turned on by the softer, chubbier ones?
Has anyone else realized they prefer teddy bear guys over the gym bros? What do you like about it?
