In over my head
If this isn't the right sub for this I apologize, not sure where else to put things.
I'm exhausted. For the last 2 years I've been considered a "part time/casual", despite working full time. Sometimes 14-16 hour days back to back. I was hopeful for a long time that they would update my contract - no such luck.
My boyfriend and I have been wanting to travel more and were planning to do so when my lease ended in October. I was going to leave my job, live with him for a month and then we'd go. But I had a mental breakdown due to the work and some other things going on personally (my mum is very sick). So I'm terminating my lease and leaving my job early (end of August).
My plan is to stay with my boyfriend for a few months. He's going to work a bit more, then also end his lease and then we're going to take an extended (3+ month) trip through SEA. But it means that I will likely be out of work for around 2-3 months, and I'm anxious about this - especially with so much upcoming travel... I'm headed to Europe for 2 weeks on my own next week, this was planned before everything went down.
I have about 45k saved. with us splitting rent and food for a bit I'm hoping the 2-3 months of unemployment will be okay. But there's so much going on I'm feeling overwhelmed. Boyfriend also brought up wanting to do his master's which is exciting but it means that he's now more on the fence about travelling with me. I'd just go on my own if it ends up that way, I'm fine with that even though it's much scarier solo travelling as a woman. but I feel like I've had the rug pulled up from under me a bit? That's not to say that I haven't made some rapid decisions either - I am moving in earlier than what was expected. So I don't know. I can't be too upset.
I'm not even really sure what I'm asking. If I'm asking anything. Just need to get this out there. I feel like I should be excited about everything coming up (new digs, new city, lots of travel, time to recover from burnout etc.) but all I feel is anxious and overwhelmed. I'm flipping my entire life around and I'm terrified.
