I tried fixing my girlfriend’s slow PC by updating old drivers and now Secure Boot breaks Windows (Valorant won’t run unless it’s OFF) plus (she will kick my asss if i dont fix it)
So I was trying to help fix a slow PC and I think I ended up breaking something in the process.
The PC was feeling slow, so I:
cleaned temp files checked Windows updates checked driver updates found an Intel graphics driver update from around 2018 installed it thinking it might help performance ran updates and restarted the PC
After that, this issue started happening:
If Secure Boot is OFF → PC boots and works normally If Secure Boot is ON → PC does NOT boot into Windows (black screen / “boot security blocked this boot”)
And because Valorant requires Secure Boot ON, the game won’t launch anymore.
What I already tried: BIOS mode is UEFI Disk is GPT Disabled Legacy Support / CSM Restored Secure Boot factory keys Secure Boot mode set to Standard Reinstalled Riot Vanguard Current result: Secure Boot ON = PC won’t boot Secure Boot OFF = PC works fine, but Valorant cannot run My question:
Is there any way to:
roll back whatever update/driver change caused this OR fix Secure Boot so it works without reinstalling Windows
And if I reset the PC to factory settings, would that actually fix the Secure Boot issue or is this more of a BIOS/firmware problem? So I was trying to help fix a slow PC and I think I ended up breaking something in the process.
