Do you think aliens have a childhood ?

Discussion

I’ve been thinking about what aliens might be like, and I wonder if we assume too much about them based on science fiction.

For example, do aliens even have childhoods like we do? Maybe they don’t grow from baby to adult in a straight line. Maybe their life cycle is completely different like starting old and becoming young, similar to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, or something we can’t even imagine

We often picture aliens as highly technical and intelligent, but that might not be true. Maybe they aren’t more advanced than us. Maybe they’re simple life forms or even very different in how they think and survive

We also assume they might have human-like features, like eyes, heads, arms or legs, but they might not look like that at all. They could be completely abstract forms shapes we wouldn’t recognize as creatures Some might not even have clear body structures or senses like sight.

We usually assume life needs things like male and female or other types of reproduction, but maybe alien life doesn’t work that way either. They might reproduce in ways similar to plants, or in ways we haven’t observed on Earth at all, or maybe they don’t “reproduce” in a traditional sense.

It’s possible that life elsewhere in the universe could be very different from what we expect less organized, more unusual, or just fundamentally outside our ideas of biology and intelligence.
