Split screen issue

Has anyone else found that basically global search (swipe down from home screen to search for an app), kills two finger swipe down to split screen. Which seems like either a bug or an oversight.

Basically if you have either selected your first app from global search (single finger swipe down to split screen), or if you try to find the second app by global search, split screen is killed and the second app goes full screen only.

I must say it's annoying as basically any other method works (such as pull up app drawer and manually look for app).
