AI is a tool, so the haters' opinion is silly.
You want Reddit's most truly unpopular opinion? One that calls them out on their kneejerk pat-themselves-on-the-back bullshit? I got you.
AI is here forever and it's time you got on board. It isn't some amorphous thing an intelligent person capable of nuance just dismisses offhand.
Stupid people will use this tool to make stupid things. But before AI, we drew Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse as gangstas with joints in JNCO jeans and I cringed at that shit, too.
Smart people will use this tool to make smart things. Before AI, googling an Excel formula or directions for properly building the frame of a house or fixing an issue on your car wasn't mocked.
It's here to stay and will only improve exponentially and is already nearly ubiquitous, so being Anti-AI in the year 2026 is just another genre of "Old Man Yells At Cloud" and makes you look stupid.
"How dare you build a house with a hammer instead of your bare hands" is a stupid take and yet the Fuck AI people get applauded for having such a delusional take on AI.
I want my doctor to have the ability to input my symptoms and see possibilities in order of likliness. I want to be able to generate a photo of a wet floor sign over a puddle instead of trying to pay some stock photography company a fee. I like that ideas can become reality in moments. Of course anyone could pay anyone hundreds of dollars for a week of work... or you can get whatever you want in 30 seconds for free.
As long as we continue trying to make data centers environmentally friendlier and they improve year to year, some electric and water cost will be negligible within 2 or 3 years. People who want perfect put the gate and deny all progress on the way there are dumb.
