Technical Questions

Question

I’m researching how Clank.world formats and sends prompts to its AI models. I’ve already tested some markdown features myself, but I have a few questions.

Questions for the Developers
Are markdown symbols (*, **, ***, `, #, >, ---) preserved when the prompt is sent to the model, or are they stripped/converted beforehand?

Are {{user}} and {{char}} replaced before the prompt reaches the model?

Are the fields (Character Name, Personality, Dialogue Examples, Scene Prompt, and Initial Message) all concatenated into one prompt, or are some sections weighted or treated differently?

Does Clank.world inject hidden system prompts, formatting instructions, or other backend guidance that creators don’t see?

What models are currently being used on Clank.world? Are they variants of Llama, Mistral, or something else?

Is there a token or character limit for Personality, Dialogue Examples, Scene Prompt, or Initial Message?

Are backticks treated specially by Clank itself, or are they simply markdown passed directly to the model?

When the AI generates a response, does it see the rendered markdown or the raw markdown syntax?

Questions for the Community
Have you found any formatting tricks that noticeably improve character consistency?

Do markdown features like italics (*text*), backticks (`text`), headers (### Header ###), or separators (---) affect how the AI behaves?

Has anyone tested whether formatting influences memory retention or long-conversation consistency?

Are there any prompt-engineering tricks unique to Clank.world that aren’t obvious to new creators?
What are some examples of formatting or prompt structures that consistently produce better roleplay quality?

Are there any quirks, bugs, or undocumented behaviors that bot creators should know about?
For context, I’ve already tested that standard markdown formatting, headers, blockquotes, unicode symbols, and backticks render correctly on the site, while HTML appears to render only as plain text. I’m trying to determine whether these formatting choices are purely cosmetic or if they meaningfully influence the model’s behavior.
