bad experiences building up

Rant!!!!!!

My fiancé and I have been season pass holders for a few years in a row now and usually end up going to the park at least two times a season. The past handful of trips we’ve had have been extremely lackluster, insane lines that seem never ending, hiiiigh prices, rides constantly breaking down, and what seems to be extreme staffing issues with very poor job training.

Our last Halloweekends visit was sad. Loved all the decorations per usual. However it was impossible to get on any rides without waiting forever since a huge amount of the coasters were straight up not operating for the whole day. I think we only ended up getting on maybe 2 or 3 rides that day before getting frustrated and giving up and just walking around. Once evening came, we saw barely any scare actors in the spooky zones and it felt very lacking to say the least. We didn’t opt to pay to get into the haunted houses since the lines for those were insane too, shocker.

Today we were planning on spending the day half in the main park and half in the water park. Went into the main park and hopped in line for Steel Vengeance only for it to shut down when we were more than halfway through the line. Left to go grab a drink, first vendor place didn’t have any normal drinks, second one didn’t have water cups available, last one finally got us right after walking all over the place for a drink. We were planning on buying a single fast lane pass for maverick, but the ticket kiosk at the gate was broken. Tried to see if the gift shop had any but they don’t sell them (we didn’t know). Walked all the way to Steel Vengeance again to buy a fast pass for maverick from that kiosk, once we got to that area, everyone got kicked out of the space in front of the gate and we couldn’t access the kiosk there either. Waited in line for Gemini just for it to break down and have to leave the line. Ended up going to Magnum since it was walk on. That was the only ride we went on before deciding that we felt like we were wasting time and headed to the water park.

The lines to get into the water park were insane today, I overheard that some people waited well over an hour in line just to get in. It was absolutely packed like sardines inside and was genuinely hard to get from one place to another. Sat in the wave pool for a few min before getting on a slide before lines got too long. After the single person tube slide we went on, we went over to get in line for the big multiple person tube slide. That line literally took us well over an hour and a half to get through. We tried to get back in the wave pool multiple times but every time, it was closed or people were getting kicked out again. Since no one was allowed in, traffic went to the other attractions that were already overflowing with people. The lines were genuinely so long that it wasn’t worth it to go on anything else…. EVEN THE BATHROOMS!!! I seriously have never been to a water park where the lazy river has a mile long line to get into. We left after having only gone on two slides and having sat in the wave pool for like 5 minutes. Our time today was spent 90% on waiting and walking around in disappointment.

All I got today was a sunburn and just straight up pissed off. I can’t imagine being a family who spent lots of money on tickets, travel, etc. today just to experience what we experienced. Thankful we had our season pass so we didn’t end up wasting so much money on a bad time. Today being a total wash has been extra disappointing because this was supposed to be a much needed day out to decompress from work/life stress.

TLDR the park has been going down hill and feels like such a waste of time and money thanks to capitalism and corporate greed. Seems like the only way to even have a good time anymore is to shell out insane amounts of money on a fast pass on top of (already high) ticket, travel, parking, food, etc. costs. We are highly considering not renewing our season passes for the next year ):
