Share Your Story - Investigative Journalism Series

Hi everyone. My name is Jamie Perkins, and I’m earning my Master’s degree in journalism at Boston University.

For my capstone project, I’m writing a series of articles about the troubled-teen industry, inspired in part by my own experiences in treatment centers. Each article will be an in-depth narrative feature focused on a survivor’s story while also examining the facilities they attended. The series is intended for publication, though the outlet has not been finalized.

I’m posting here because I’m looking to speak with people who would be willing to share their experiences. I believe these stories deserve to be heard.

To be transparent, some interview questions may involve difficult or sensitive topics. My goal is always to approach these conversations with care and respect, and we can move at whatever pace feels most comfortable for you.
