CFS positioning tips with K2?

Just unboxed the K2 Combo with CFS - great deal at Microcenter. Problem is that it fits on my workspace, but I don't have enough room to open the CFS fully. It looks like I need to buy a longer CFS-485 cord and the longer tubing. Any things I should know before I try to put the CFS next to the K2?
