Iron deficient without anemia question

I was ordered 1 infusion for a ferritin of 16, previously 12, brought up to 20 with supplements and then dropped down to 16 where I’m at now, when I demanded another test. Anyway the Dr told me to take a blood test 1 week after infusion… does this sound right? Everywhere iv read people are saying to take the test around 6 weeks…
