Y'all are incredibly out-of-touch with life outside of the top 10-15 largest cities in the US.
Especially in the South. Saw a post about somebody aging out of youth culture and the top comment was "There’s nothing more annoying than 28 year olds complaining about how old they are."
While 28 isn't "old", there's a huge difference between being 28 in NYC and being 28 south of Charlotte (excluding Atlanta + Miami). If you aren't married by 28 in a mid-sized or smaller city in the South, you have seriously fucked up at least once. Your time to fuck around and be social, single, and irresponsible started fading at like 21, and by 24/25, was done.
Being 28 and single in NYC is just normal. Not having a kid until you're like 35 is no big deal. Living in rural, or even just smallish-town South, if you're 27/28 without a kid, you're either infertile or have been a real fuck up. Legitimately, your best bet for parenthood at that point is getting with a single mom, because you're not having one of your own.
