AP class worries...

Question

Hi everyone, I (15f) am a rising junior this summer at my small town high school (~200 kids). I signed up to take 4 AP classes next year (APES, APUSH, AP Precalc and AP Lang). I know for many of the smart people in this subreddit this probably doesn't seem too crazy but at my school, it's extremely rare for people to take more than 2 a year, and even that is considered a heavy courseload. Now, my counselor didn't tell me I couldn't or that he was concerned, and my teachers said I would be fine. However, today I was at some grad parties with some alumni friends and I was talking about it and they all said I was getting myself into a death trap. For context, I do have very good grades. my GPA is a 97.35 out of 100 and I'm ranked 2nd in my class (although I was ranked 1st, I still don't know who took my spot lol). My point is, so far I have not struggled very much in school. I came on here to ask whether my friends are right and if I should drop a class or if I'll be okay. I want to go to a good school so, I'll do whatever it takes. If anyone has any advice, teachers or past AP students, that would be so helpful. Thank you!!
