007
Today arrived late to its own opening
Wearing mismatched weather patterns
The sidewalk debated with my shoes
About who was really carrying whom
My calendar lied on its résumé
Claimed “light day” with a straight face
The coffee took one look at me
And brewed itself a second cup
A bird filed a complaint with the wind
About turbulence in aisle three
I told today it could do better
It shrugged and handed me a sunset
