homesickness

Last year, my husband and I moved to northern Germany. Prior to that, we had lived in Austria for over 10 years, which was beautiful. The gloomy weather and lack of sunshine here have started to affect me, especially on weekends when we want to plan something outdoorsy or go on a day trip. I honestly don't know how people here live with it and still feel content.

It may be because I grew up in a sunny Mediterranean country, but I still feel so homesick, especially during the summer. I cry every single time we have to fly back here after visiting home. How do you guys cope with it?

My life here is actually pretty decent, which makes it even more confusing. I love Germany, my work and all that. I can speak German very good. Still it feels very hard to stay here. I don't have the courage to move back home either.
