Help with programming garage door opener

My old Chamberlin garage door opener failed. My installer put in a new Liftmaster 2220L yesterday. No problem programming our Audi PHEV, or MyQ and all pads and remotes but my i5 does not work. It worked fine with the older opener and seems to accept the button programming-at least the process outlined works the way it is described--the right leds flash in the right colors and states. But the rolling code learn process does not work . Anyone else have this issue--if so how did you solve it?
