What does hard world corruption actually do??

My hwc points are 1-2 right now. I’m trying to lower it but it’s hard since there are no repeatable quests you can do to lower it and I’d need to steal the necklace from IW to unlock the schism event. (Stealing IWs necklace increases 2 hwc points lol) The most important IMO are soft world corruption points since they’re the ones that make NPCS worse and stuff like that. Yes the hwc points give in to the swc points weekly but seriously. I’d love to have my hwc points to 0 which I could do and will do, BUT I wanna unlock the schism event and build everything ( including the archaeological office) and the necklace will get taken away by doing that as well. Soooooo um wtf do I do and what do hwc points actually do and is it worth to miss out on the schism event to keep them 0. I can always lower swc points so those are no problem, I don’t mind if +2 points add do my swc points weekly.
