Hyperautomation market projected to hit $276.8B by 2035 - RPA, AI, and IT/Telecom leading the charge
Came across a market research report from Roots Analysis on hyperautomation and figured it'd be relevant to this community given how much it overlaps with AI and enterprise automation trends.
The headline numbers: the hyperautomation market was valued at $46.73 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $276.81 billion by 2035, growing at a CAGR of 17.55%.
Some highlights from the report:
RPA leads, but computer vision is growing fastest
Robotic process automation currently holds the largest market share, mostly thanks to its ability to handle high-volume data processing tasks without human intervention. But computer vision is expected to post the fastest growth, driven by use cases like fault detection, barcode analysis, and security applications in manufacturing.
Hardware leads revenue, software grows fastest
Hardware currently captures the bigger revenue share because of the efficiency gains automation equipment brings to manufacturing. Software, however, is expected to see the highest CAGR as companies lean into data processing and workflow automation tools.
Marketing and sales is the fastest-growing function
While finance and accounting currently holds a major chunk of the market (a lot of repetitive, manual tasks to automate there), marketing and sales is expected to grow fastest as companies push automation into customer engagement and campaign management.
Cloud deployment dominates
Cloud remains the leading deployment model, mainly because of the flexibility and scalability it offers compared to on-prem setups.
IT and telecom leads end-user adoption, healthcare growing fastest
IT and telecom currently dominates as an end-use sector, largely because hyperautomation simplifies customer service tasks like technical support and query handling. Healthcare and life sciences is expected to see the highest CAGR through 2035 as providers look to streamline operations and improve patient care.
North America leads, Asia growing fastest
North America currently holds the largest share due to early tech adoption and a mature provider ecosystem, while Asia is expected to grow at a higher CAGR, driven by heavy IT infrastructure investment in China and India.
A few recent moves worth noting
Automation Anywhere brought on an Intel veteran as CMO in mid-2024 to push its AI software globally, and SAP has been weaving business AI throughout its enterprise cloud portfolio through partnerships with major AI players.
With AI and RPA increasingly merging into single platforms, it feels like "hyperautomation" is becoming less of a buzzword and more of a baseline expectation for enterprise software. Curious what others think, are we seeing genuine ROI from these deployments yet, or is adoption still mostly pilot-stage for a lot of companies?
