My friend helped me choose sketches of my wife

Lately I’ve (43m) been using AI to convert photos that I’ve taken into different artsy renderings. In particular I’ve found that with the right prompts, converting photos into a detailed pencil sketch style of art has given some amazing results.

For my wife’s (41f) birthday, I’m considering surprising her by having one or two of these types of “sketches” framed and hung in our bathroom. The art would be based on some artistic nude photos I took of her earlier this year.

I asked my closest friend for his advice on whether this idea is meaningful or cheesy, and also let him have a look at three of the sketches I’m considering. He gave his opinions (he’s supportive and thinks I should do it).

But now I’m wondering if I went too far by letting him have a look at the sketches, and whether I should let my wife know he had input into this gift. Or am I overthinking?
